"Tuck Everlasting" Book Responce

“Tuck Everlasting” by Natalie Babbitt is one of the most beloved American novels. It’s a story about a young girl named Winnie. She was tired of her old life and left home to find adventure. As she wondered around in the woods she met a boy named Jesse Tuck, who seemed normal. But to her surprise he and his family are immortal. As the story progresses and Winnie gets to know Jesse’s family, she also changes. As Winnie finally breaks free from her boring and strict life, and then gets to know the Tucks, she learns to face the consequences and sacrifices to protect them.

For example, in the beginning of the book, Winnie was tired of being constantly looked over and just wanted to venture. As she left she never realized what she did was selfish. She left her family behind in grief. But throughout the story she gets to know the Tucks, and as trouble comes along she does protect them. So this leads me to the conclusion that the Tucks affected her (positively). So as she scarifies, she must of realized that her family loves her, and that she must sacrifice for them, because she returned home at the end.

All in all, in most books the main character has a change of mind, behavior, or look. In this case Winnie has changed into a more considerate, caring person. I think our teenage years are our realistic change of mind into great and successful adults we one day will become.

Summer Reading Book Responce

52 Reasons to Hate my Father” by Jessica Brody is about the story of a bratty, rich, 18- year old girl, who has to suffer the consequences of her actions. (Or so she thinks.)

Lexington Larrabee is the youngest daughter of the CEO from the multi-billion dollar company, “Larrabee Media”. Her dad, Mr. Larrabee, had never shown up to any important events that mattered to Lexi. Like her birthday, prom, graduation, etc. Despite these hardships, Lexi doesn’t seem to care. The only thing that has any meaning to her including her father, is the twenty-five million dollar check she will be receiving on her eighteenth birthday. (As her trust-fund). But her father has different plans, while Lexi has constantly been drinking and partying with friends, her father worried. He has been keeping a secret from all his 4 children, that their mother, (his wife) was an alcoholic. She got into a car accident, which led to her death, (when Lexi as only 2.) Mr. Larrabee was concerned and decided to have a plan for Lexi over a one year time spread. She had to complete 52 low-paid jobs to receive her trust fund. Obviously Lexi was angry but she gave in. Towards the end of the book she realizes, that her father set those specific jobs up for her, because each one was 52 millionaire’s first job. He wanted her to become successful. When I finished the book, I realized, sometimes the way you see things aren’t always the way they really are. For example, Mr. Larrabee’s plan for Lexi; she saw it as his joy of torturing her, when really he didn’t want to loose like he did his wife. Not only that, he also wanted her to be successful. I really enjoyed this book, it did touch my heart, and made me realize that, my parents, my teachers, and other important people in my life want what is the best for me.
